2020 and 2021 Events Affected by COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many events are being rescheduled, cancelled, or moved into a virtual environment.

As announced via email in April, our 2020 Mapping School scheduled for August in Greenville was cancelled.  2021 Mapping School scheduled for Clemmons is hoped to be held as previously scheduled. We are then looking at returning to Greenville in 2022, as the last school held in the East was 2017. Assumption is that 2023 would then return to the Western side of the state.

In June we announced that this year’s Fall Conference would be held virtually, and now we’re pleased to announce that it will be a Joint Virtual Conference held in conjunction with the NC Arc Users Group (NCAUG) September 2-4, 2020. For more details and registration information, see the Full Announcement page (also available under the “Events & Registration” tab of the menu above.

The Land Records Management Division of the Secretary of State is also working on some virtual workshops for the Fall, including Plat Review Officer Workshops, presented in half-day blocks.

UNC School of Government will offer Property Tax Listing and Assessing in North Carolina virtually October 27-30, 2020. This is a required course for State Certification and for NCPMA Senior Mapper designation.

It has also been recently announced that the NC GIS Conference, which was scheduled for Raleigh during February 2021 has been postponed until 2022 at this time. There is a hope of putting on some virtual conference or workshops around the original dates or possibly multiple instances.
